After falling short in the first three games of the group stages with two draws and a loss, that put them in doubt for qualification. Rather than buckling under pressure, Hatfield United stepped up a gear in the final group stage game vs. Aylesbury United, who were previously unbeaten and sitting at the at the top of the table.
In the qualifying stages, the team managed to get 2nd place, qualifying for the semi-finals, where Ben Farrel stepped up to score the only goal of the game, putting Hatfield United into the final, where they would meet the hosts and the only team to have beaten Hatfield United earlier in the group stages.
Well, revenge was sweet, with a nice early goal from Hazza that would ultimately secure the win and our second trophy this season.
